Brief Description: Required by sworn employed officers who completed a basic law enforcement academy in another state.

Full Description: 40 POST hours available!
The Legal Equivalency course is conducted twice per year and is required for recently hired sworn officers currently employed by an agency and who completed a basic law enforcement academy in another state. This course must be completed within 12 months of hire. Prior to registering for this course, the Montana POST Council must approve the officers to attend. Contact POST at 444-9975 to start the POST approval process.
Agencies will need to send their prospective students to MLEA with a laptop or tablet capable of accessing the internet and their ACADIS Portal. If you do not have access to your ACADIS Portal, please contact your supervisor or POST at MTPOST@mt.gov.

After receiving POST approval, you must submit a copy of the POST approval letter in the registration portal.

Please note that the SFST/Intoxilyzer training is a separate course and requires a different registration. Registering for LEQ does not provide registration in SFST.
Lunch is not included by can be purchased for $10.25. Full meal plan $30.00 per day.
